ip route 10.1.1.8 255.255.255.252 s2/0
ip route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 10.1.1.6
ip route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 F0/1
ip route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 10.1.1.10
To achieve the goal, the command ip route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 10.1.1.10 should be issued on R3. This command creates a default route to the next-hop router at 10.1.1.10 (R4, note that 10.1.1.9 could also be used but It's not on the list of options). Default route is used to send traffic that is destined to an unknown network (not on the routing table). The basic syntax for ip route is ip route remote-subnet mask {next-hop | interface}. Also, note that it is advisable to use the next-hop address when configuring default route instead of using Interface as the default route to the destination as it could cause the router to send an Address Resolution Protocol (ARP) request for each destination address it sends through the default route. This could cause high processor utilization and creates large ARP cache. (http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/ios/iproutepi/command/reference/iribook/iri_pi1.html#wp1037816)
