If your organization is constructing a data center, what temperature would you recommend for these rooms?
15-23 degree Celsius (59-73.4 F)
Below 15 degree Celsius (59 F)
28-40 degree Celsius (82-104 F)
None of these
For rooms that contain computer equipment, the recommended temperature is between 15-20 degree Celsius, otherwise it is too hot or too cold. Changed answer to 15.1-28 as google recommends 26.7 Celsius and ASHRAE recommends 18-27 Celsius... If you don't know how to convert to celsius, subtract 32 (approx.) from the fahrenheit number, THEN divide it by 1.8; x degC = (1.8*x + 32) degF and y degF = (y - 32)/1.8 degC. http://www.metric-conversions.org/temperature/celsius-to-fahrenheit.htm. EDIT: Previous change to answer is incorrect. Sybex - CISSP 7th Ed., Chp. 10 Physical Security Requirements; Pg 401 specifically states "Rooms intended primarily to house computers should generally be kept at 60 to 75 degrees Fahrenheit (15 to 23 degrees Celsius)." EDIT: Added Fahrenheit values.
