Change the current cable to a Cross-over cable
Connect the PCs to a new switch, reconfigure their IP address add a new Router and configure one of its interfaces with a default-gateway
Reconfigure the subnet masks of both PCs to /24
Add a Router and configure each interface with the correct default gateway address
For newer network interfaces, this type of connection will work because of the technology called Auto-MDIX (Auto Medium Dependent Interface Crossover) which detects and configures the connection appropriately.
