CISSP 7th edition pages 807-808 - evidence must be relevant, material and competent, correcting answer There are three basic requirements for evidence to be introduced into a court of law. To be considered admissible evidence , it must meet all three of these requirements, as determined by the judge, prior to being discussed in open court: ■ The evidence must be relevant t to determining a fact. Investigations 807 ■ The fact that the evidence seeks to determine must be material l (that is, related) to the case. ■ The evidence must be competent , meaning it must have been obtained legally. Evidence that results from an illegal search would be inadmissible because it is not competent.
