Using letter/number substitution (p455w0rd, for example) hardens against hybrid password attacks. True or false?
True
False
False. In fact, letter/number substitution passwords are what hybrid attacks are designed to crack. -- Well, yes. But you didn't ask if it could make it a "strong" password. This question asked if it could "help harden" it. In that case, the answer is very clearly "yes" it does help harden it. So stop being dumb. Edit: I doubt if this question is a good fit. Edit: A hybrid attack is designed for passwords with these substitutions so letter/number substitution is NOT actually hardening the password. If the password given were random strings of characters, then the answer would be true. Corrected answer. Edit: Removed "can help" to make a sensible question out of a poorly worded one.
