EDIT: Respectfully, it does make some sense but it isn't much of a security question. A valid reason to use a lesser number of bits is due to storage requirements. Many document management systems will store documents as one bit (black/white) TIF images, partly to save on storage requirements. I would therefore suggest changing the answer to the size answer. Don't forget that you can give the question only one (1) star.
