Which of the following is a downside of on-site pen testing?
They can't collect a lot of vulnerability information if there is a robust perimeter firewall
They're less effective at testing social engineering attacks against employees
They don't simulate typical external attacks very well
They don't test physical security very well
The major downsides of on-site pen testing is that they may not simulate external attacks very well, and they tend to be more expensive than remote pen testing. In my personal opinion, I think organizations should allow for the expense of a thorough on-site and remote pen test once a year or when there's a significant change to the network or building. EDIT: Not true using the internet you can perform attacks against external systems no matter if you're onsite or offsite. VPNs, remote pentesting systems
