Which one of these are high-precision time keeping devices?
stratum 2
stratum 3
stratum 1
stratum 0
These give off a very accurate pulse per second signal. Stratum 0 is the authoritative time source and cannot be used on the network. Stratum 1 is the external reference clock (UTC) that can receive its time from the Stratum 0 source and can be used on the network. Stratum 2 starts to move further away from Stratum 0 and becomes less accurate and reliable due to the distance from Stratum 0. NTP can handle a maximum of 16 Stratum levels noting that the larger the stratum level (stratum 16), the more inaccurate the time can become.
