Who performs the authentication of new clients joining an Ad Hoc wireless network?
RADIUS
Any one of the STA
All of the STA
AP
Any one of the STA can be used to authenticate new clients joining the Ad Hoc network. (Note that there are no AP in the case of an Ad Hoc network). EDIT: i believe "All of the STA" is the better answer because in a Ad Hoc mode, each STA has to authenticate with each other STA. Edit: Is this true that each STA in the ad hoc wireless network need to authenticate each of the rest STAs? Any citation? I doubt this is the case in a peer to peer network, have no idea of how to do such an authentication, and am ready to be corrected. What I know is only one of the STA will send the beacons, hence this will be the one to do the authentication. Will anybody double check the answer?
