Your boss is interested in learning about the various types of flow control and asked you for help. Which of the following are types of flow control?
Buffering, Congestion avoidance, Load Balancing
Congestion avoidance, Windowing, Buffering
Load Balancing, Split horizon, Poison reverse
Cut-through, Fragment-free, Fast-forward
Congestion avoidance, Windowing, and Buffering are types of flow control. Congestion avoidance deals with a traffic congestion caused when one device sends traffic too fast that the destination device cannot handle. Windowing is used to avoid buffer overflows caused when a device sends too much data that a destination device cannot handle. Windowing limits the amount of data to be sent or received by using one TCP feature called Window Size (or think of it as a threshold). Buffering is a TCP feature used to control data transfer (data is stored first in a memory location before forwarding to the destination).
