If an attacker uses ARP spoofing to capture traffic originally intended for a target host and copies the packet contents for analysis before forwarding the packet to the intended host, it's considered to be what kind of attack?
MAC duplication
Man-in-the-middle attack
Interception
Denial of service attack
By capturing packets intended for the target host and copying the contents for later analysis before forwarding them to the target, the attacker has packet sniffed or intercepted the target host's traffic. The target won't be aware of this activity and thus is unknowingly having it's communications monitored. This is one way for an attacker to packet sniff on a switched network. As all packets are being forwarded, it's not a denial of service. As the contents aren't modified, it's not a man-in-the-middle. MAC duplication doesn't use ARP spoofing. EDIT: How isn't this a Passive MitM attack? OWASP defines MitM as an attack that intercepts a communication between two systems. A MitM attack does not require content modification.
