Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF), should be measured in the SLA agreement. True or false?
True
False
Why ? Any comment ? -> I think this falls into "defect rates" category, question is a bit strange to be honest and I am not certain it is correct. MTBF is often a value given by the equipment manufacturer but yes, you could measure it and it would be a defect rate so I tend to say it is ok as-is but should be taken with caution. A service level agreement should be actionable on a per-incident timescale, and MTBF by definition has no bearing on failure times of individual units and requires a large enough sample size to provide statistical confidence that this is not an SLA-relevant measure. Information to guide purchasing decisions, perhaps, but not service level agreements. NOTE MTBF: Mean time to business failure is not a relevant term
