Microsoft's default Active Directory can be brute-force attacked to reveal user account passwords. True or false?
True
False
True. There's a bug in Active Directory in which once an attack uses an exploit to obtain user names, they can then brute-force to acquire associated passwords. EDIT: This assumes there is no lockout policy, which most system admins have enabled. EDIT: Which I just verified is not the default; the default value is zero which means no lockout.
