Refer to the exhibit. The network has been configured to run Common Spanning Tree under VLAN 001. The STP network is frequently re-converging and the overall connectivity is unstable. What can be the cause of the issue?
The AUTO configuration is not supported on Common STP.
There is only one VLAN configured.
A duplex mismatch is provoking re-convergence.
The STP path cost must be defined manually.
STP path cost automatically changes when a port speed/duplex is changed. If a port is configured as AUTO (negotiation) and the other end is configured as 100Mbps/Full-duplex, a duplex mismatch will occur. If a duplex mismatch occurs the link will be intermittent and the spanning tree will have to recalculate the path cost automatically. A change in the path cost can change the spanning tree topology.
