The clockrate configuration command is missing on the Serial0/1 interface of a router connected to the Internet. What would be the status line condition of the interface?
serial 0/1 is down, line protocol is down.
serial 0/1 is up, line protocol is down.
serial 0/1 is administratively down.
serial 0/1 is up, line protocol is up.
Use the command "show interfaces serial0/1" to display the information of interface serial 0/1. If a clockrate configuration is missing on a serial interface, the layer 2 protocol will not work, but the L1 interface will remain up and working. This is the up/down status and no communication will be established between the two nodes. The output of "show interfaces serial0/1" can show also if the interface has been administratively down with a "shutdown" command. If the status of the line is down/down is possible that the interface is not installed, bad cable or no cable. If the interface is up/up it means that the interface is working normally.
