The most common method to exploit a database is:
Buffer overflow
SQL injection
Smurf attack
Man in the middle
Databases are especially vulnerable to SQL injection attacks because input to them is often not sanitized sufficiently and their internal access control usually allows access to too much data.
Databases used in HTML are vulnerable to SQL attacks however, in the development side MITM is an insider attack as well as Sys Admin & Security permissions have access to the DB. EDIT: am i missing something? html is client side, and does not use databases? you would need a server-side language, like php...? EDIT: agreed. Please show me a database in HTML.
EDIT: i don't think there is database in HTML !!! unless i've missed my web dev course
