True or false, Diffie-Hellman is a symmetric key algorithm based on discrete logarithms.
True
False
The correct response is false. Diffie-Hellman is an asymmetric key algorithm. According to CBK fourth edition page 1235 Diffie-Helman algorithm is an Asymmetric algorithm used to exchange Symmetric key values. Based on logarithms in finite fields.edit: I feel the wording misleading. DH algorithm only need to do the Mod operation and the cracking of DH algorithm is a discrete logarithm problem. Change it to "based on the difficulty of solving discrete log problem" would be better.
I disagree. Diffie-Hellman itself is an algorithm used to exchange symmetric keys, but uses an asymmetric algorithm, so part of this question is false.
