What is a best practice when setting up a Wi-Fi router? (choose just one)
Testing your key strength.
Set up WPA2 encryption.
Changing the default SSID.
Wrapping with tin foil to protect.
It's best practice to change the default SSID. EDIT: SSID does nothing for security and hence do not understand the logic. CORRECTION PLEASE????? (Edit #2: A factory default SSID might possibly be searchable on the Internet, from which one could find the name/password combo to the autoconfiguration page. A wireless network with the SSID set to "Linksys E900 N300" gives much more information to an attacker than a network with the SSID of "John's Home Network." Although better options exist such as changing the router autoconfiguration password, out of the options given - since you can only pick one - it is best to change the default SSID.)
Change default password, hide ssid, change ip schema, disable dhcp, possibly add radius for maximum security.
