What is a possible defense to a Rogue Access Point?
Man Trap
Biometrics
802.1X
Spectrum Analyzer
802.1X provides network access control, preventing unauthorized devices like a Rogue Access Point from accessing the network EDIT: You can also use a spectrum analyzer to located RAPs, so it's also a possible defense. Edit: Please tell how 802.1X may prevent Rouge Access Point from accessing the network. 802.1X is a standard(specification or whatsoever) and I can't see why it is immune to say, evil twin in a real attack. On the other hand, the spectrum should show two APs with the same name which indicates a rogue AP may be in somewhere. EDIT: The AP has to be configured to work with the authentication server, a rogue AP would not know this configuration nor would it be known by the authentication server.
