What type of test involves a group going through different scenarios of the plan from beginning to end, making sure nothing is left out?
Simulation
Structured walkthrough test
Parallel
None of the above
Please add references. The only reference I found regarding scenarios is in Risk Assessments and UAT testing [edit: this sounds like a table top exercise. same thing?]
The question as presented is ambiguous as it basically defines both structured walk-through and a simulation test.
A structured walk-through or table-top exercise involves members of the disaster recovery team gathering together and role-playing a disaster. There is a test monitor who presents the details throughout the walk-through. Think Dungeons and Dragons.
A simulation is similar to the structured walk-through with the exception that some of the responses to the presented disaster scenario are then test which can involve interruption of non-critical business activities.
