Which method clears a hard drive and also provides the greatest level of assurance that the data is irretrievable?
Degaussing
All of these
Zeroization
Wiping method
The Gutmann method provides greater assurance than a single pass with 0s or even a wipe. EDIT -- Most of the patterns in the Gutmann method were designed for older MFM/RLL encoded disks. Gutmann himself has noted that more modern drives no longer use these older encoding techniques, making parts of the method irrelevant. EDIT2 -- Because the answer "Guttman Method" is obviously not a good answer, I'm going to change it to "Degaussing" because it is the most surefire way to erase data imo (obviously nothing is perfect, don't nitpick)
