Why would you not use native strcpy (), or strcat () functions in C/C++ programming?
They are not part of the NOP system
They provide an executable code
They are not in the correct programming language
These are susceptible to buffer overflows
strcopy() and strcat() are both unsafe because both C/C++ functions are susceptible to buffer overflow exploits. Both strcopy() and strcat() functions do not check for bounds and when the data intended for the source is larger than the destination then the remaining data (bytes) overflow into the follow-on memory structure. The additional data could be attack data (exploit information) or used to disrupt normal computer operations.
