In terms of NAT, what does Inside Local
mean?
Internal ip addresses assigned to inside devices before they are translated into the "`inside global`" addresses that are publicly visible and routable on the internet
Inside public addresses that are for devices whose traffic will never be permitted to leave Local-Area-Network
public IP addresses that need mapping
addresses are assigned to outside devices and are not sent inside
addresses assigned to the inside devices known to the outside devices
"Inside local address" is the IP address assigned to a host on the inside network. Addresses of this type are typically private IP addresses (RFC 1918). It is not sent outside of its local network . The NAT term "Outside global address" means that the IP address is assigned to the outside host and not advertised to the inside devices. "Inside global address" is a legitimate IP address assigned by the NIC or service provider that represents one or more inside local IP addresses to the outside (internet). "Outside local address" is the IP address of an outside host as it appears to the inside network. Not necessarily a private address, it is allocated from an address space routable on the inside. "Outside global address" is the IP address assigned to a host on the outside network. The address is allocated from a globally routable address (public IP address) or network space.
