Refer to the Exhibit below. SW2 receives a frame on port Fa0/3, with PC2's MAC address as destination. There is no dynamic entry in the MAC address table for the destination MAC address on SW2. The Switch forwards the frame out all ports except the one that received it. What PC's MAC addresses will be recorded in the table after this frame is processes by all nodes? Whats the point !!! without an image answer PC3!!!
Only PC3 MAC address will be recorded in the table
PC3 and PC2 MAC addresses will be recorded in the table
All PC's MAC address except PC3 will be recorded on the table
The MAC address must be entered statically or manual
An important function of a Switch is to learn MAC addresses and interfaces to map them into its address table. With a complete address table a switch can make forwarding decisions based on the MAC addresses mapped to a specific interface. When a frame enters the switch and the source MAC address is not in the table, the switch makes a new entry. The table entry lists the interface from which the frame was received. In the case of the above question, the Switch learned the MAC address of PC3, because a frame with its source MAC address was received on interface F0/3.
