Refer to the following configuration excerpt. What does the keyword: "overload
" do?
ip nat inside source list NAT_ACL interface s0/0 overload
It denies network address translation to hosts, when the pool of addresses has been depleted.
It permits many users to connect to the Internet using one or more public IP address.
It denies network address translation to hosts when bandwidth is over-loaded.
It permits hosts to use the specified address pool if the number of available addresses is exceeded.
Overloading is a form of dynamic Network Address Translation (NAT), which maps multiple unregistered IP addresses to a single registered (Public) IP address via different source ports. It is also known as Port Address Translation (PAT), because it allows many users to connect to the internet using only one public IP address. To configure PAT is similar to dynamic NAT configuration; however with PAT the pool of addresses are only one and the _overload keyword at the end of the command. The last keyword determines that we are using PAT. - - - - - {when I got here there was no [image], so I added a line from Packet Tracer} For more information, review: https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/docs/ip/network-address-translation-nat/26704-nat-faq-00.html
