What is the feature of switches that allows either type of cables, Straight-Through or Crossover cables, to interconnect switches?
Trunk
STP
PAGP
LACP
auto-MDIX
Automatic Medium-Dependent Interface Crossover or Auto-MDIX is a feature on Cisco switches that enables either type of cables, Straight-Through or Crossover to interconnect switches. Auto-MDIX is enabled by default and is supported on 10/100/1000-Mb/s and on 10/100/1000BASE-TX small form-factor pluggable (SFP)-module interfaces. When manually configuring Auto-MDIX, you must also set the interface speed and duplex to auto so that the feature operates correctly. Spanning-Tree Protocol or STP is a loop prevention feature on redundantly interconnected switches. Trunk/Trunking is a term used for links that interconnect switches or routers for the purpose of VLAN communication. Link Aggregation Control Protocol or LACP and Port Aggregation Protocol or PAgP are both EtherChannel protocols. PAgP is a Cisco-proprietary protocol, whereas LACP is and IEEE standard defined as 802.1ax.
