Which GLBP group member is responsible for assigning virtual MAC addresses to the members of the group including itself?
Active Router
AVG
AVF
Standby Router
One of the responsibilities of an AVG is the assigning of virtual MAC addresses (including itself) to the members of the GLBP group (AVFs which are responsible for forwarding packets sent to those virtual MAC addresses). The AVG is also responsible for answering Address Resolution Protocol requests for the Virtual IP address. If and ARP is received by the AVG, it responds by giving the Virtual MAC addresses achieved by load-sharing (Round-Robin, Weighted, or Host-Dependent).
