With this switching mode enabled, the switch checks each frame for CRC errors before forwarding them to the network:
Fragment-Free
Store-and-Forward
Cut-Through
Fast-Forward
In Store-and-Forward switching mode, the complete frames are received first before being forwarded. The switch calculates for CRC errors to determine if errors occurred. If there are any errors, the frame is discarded. In Cut-Through switching, only the destination MAC address is stored in the memory buffer (first six bytes) and frames are forwarded to the appropriate switch ports as soon as the destination MAC address is determined. In Fragment-Free switching mode, the switch checks for the first 64 bytes of the frame, where most network errors and collisions occur, before being forwarded.
